The film “Street Rats: An Ethnography on Rollerblading and Skill Acquisition” is a semi-observational ethnographic film that follows Careen, a rollerblading crew in New York City. The film uses interviews and participant observation to show how the crew’s street skating activities contribute to building a sense of community by reappropriating space with rollerblading and producing skate videos.
